Hi! I’m Caisa, a Licensed Certified Social Worker who provides individual and family therapy for individuals aged 13 and older. While I thoroughly enjoy working with people in all stages of life, I especially like working with those navigating adolescence and early adulthood. My clinical interests include OCD and anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, non-suicidal self-injury, addiction, disruptive or problematic behaviors, family relationship challenges, borderline personality disorder, interpersonal difficulties, and trauma- and stressor-related disorders. My practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirming.
I take a person-centered and strengths-based approach, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy with psychoeducation to best fit individuals’ needs. Education and skill development are key elements in my approach, and I am always excited to see the people I work with feel empowered after learning something new or developing a skill!
I strive to create an environment where you will feel welcome, seen, and affirmed for who you are. It’s important to me to honor your self-knowledge, strengths, and experiences as we collaborate to address the circumstances which have brought you to therapy. We will work together to explore your challenges, set goals, and to create a plan to meet them which align with your personality, needs, and values. I’m excited to get to know you, learn about your world, and to support you in working towards your goals!
In my spare time…
I love to explore the world and connect with nature. You’ll often find me hiking, birding, or exploring new places in my free time. When I’m not out on an adventure, I enjoy reading fiction, writing poetry and prose, watching movies, playing with my cats Sasuke and Mr. Stripe, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
