Clinical Focus:

Hello! I am licensed certified social worker (LCSW) and hold a PhD in Social Work from the University of Kansas, School of Social Welfare. My past research and practice experience focused on the intersection of trauma and women involved in the criminal justice system. I have over ten years of experience working in different practice settings and am one of the founders of Magdalene Serenity House in Fayetteville, a two-year residential program built to help women who have experienced trauma, sexual exploitation, addiction, and incarceration rebuild their lives.

I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFT). I am a certified Smart Recovery Facilitator and incorporate both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) into my clinical work. One of my favorite modalities is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a collaborative therapy where we use a variety of different therapeutic techniques to help you live in alignment with what is most important to you!

I specialize in working with clients ages 15 and up, and see individuals, couples, and families. I have several years of experience and training working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, ADHD/Autism, anxiety disorders, and OCD. I use a strengths-based and trauma informed approach in my work with clients and provide a safe, comforting, and non-judgmental space for healing and transformation. My practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirming.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, exploring all the parks and kid-friendly activities in Northwest Arkansas. I enjoy playing sports and have brought home several championships on both my co-ed softball and volleyball team. My favorite time of the year is March Madness and I am a die-hard Kansas Basketball fan. My favorite place to be is at an amusement park riding roller coasters, or curled up on my couch watching reality TV or a scary movie!
