Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR-II)

Clinical Focus
I enjoy working with high school students and adults navigating difficult life circumstances. I have several years of training and practice working with clients experiencing adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety and stress, challenges with self-esteem and body image, trauma-related symptoms, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, and personal crises. I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) and I use Joiner’s Theory, somatic theories, DBT, interpersonal therapy, and narrative therapies to inform my work with clients.

I especially enjoy working with clients while they explore their relationship with food and body. I have attended trainings focused on disordered eating, body trust, and body liberation. I’m passionate about helping clients who have experienced weight stigma and/or challenges with body acceptance and self-esteem.

Acknowledging oppressive systems that perpetuate discrimination and inequity is very important to me in practice. I am unconditionally accepting and affirming of all identities and backgrounds, and my utmost goal is to provide a safe place for clients to process their diverse experiences. I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients that is built on mutual authenticity and collaboration.

I’m also very interested in body work, like somatic therapy, and already incorporate some of those techniques into sessions. Books like “The Boy Who was Raised as a Dog,” “Trauma Stewardship,” “Reclaiming Body Trust” and “Decolonizing Wellness” have had an influence on my practice and I love them!

In my spare time...
My hobbies include reading (mostly fiction!), walking my dog, book club, Animal Crossing, and hosting dinner parties. Self-care after a long day includes going on a walk, going to dinner with friends, and watching a good documentary or indie film. I also love to hike!
