Clinical Focus
I am a licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also have a Master’s and PhD in Public Health, during which my research and teaching were focused in sexual health. I have received advanced training specifically in Sexual Health and Sex Therapy. All of this put together allows me to take a systemic view and connection-based approach to working with clients. I provide a non-judgmental, accepting, validating space for clients to be themselves and explore the ways in which they want to grow and heal. I primarily work with older teens and adults with a variety of presenting concerns, including trauma, anxiety, life role adjustments, attachment/relationships, sexual and/or gender identity exploration, and sexual issues.

I specialize in working with clients who have concerns related to sexuality, including but not limited to: lack of desire, sexual dysfunction, pain, and overcoming sex-related shame. With a background in public health and advanced sex therapy training, I am able to view clients’ issues in a holistic way and to consider how the systems in which we live impact our sexual lives. I am comfortable working with erotically marginalized populations and am dedicated to being LGBTQIA+, Poly/CNM, and Kink friendly and affirming. I am actively engaged in supervision and consultation with other sex therapists, and am a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). In addition to my sexuality work, I am passionate about helping clients heal and move beyond the impact of traumatic events in their lives, through EMDR and other trauma-specific interventions.

In my spare time...
I enjoy spending time with my family and, when it’s warm out, being outside, camping, hiking, swimming, and playing. When it’s cold, I prefer to be snuggled in a blanket, by a fire, reading and sipping hot chocolate or tea. Going to the gym is one of the ways in which I prioritize taking care of myself. I love animals and when time and money allow, I want to get back into horseback riding! The beach and the ocean are my happy place, and I love plants and flowers (particularly hibiscus and palm trees!).
